A short story from Reggioli (10/2022) …

In this moment outside is gently raining. The rain was needed as the nature sorrounding us was thirsty. I am sitting in the dining room and I am thinking if what to tell to the subjects of this message. Friends, relatives, peolpe passing-by, curious, deluded, disappointed or lovers… I want to tell a piece of the story of the beautiful souls that are living here with me in this moment. I will start with Anna Serrajotto from the Aosta Valley, that exactly two years ago arrived in Reggioli. Precisely, she arrived on the 18th of September, for a Permaculture course. She arrived here without knowing the story of Reggioli, neither of the vision that led me here. She stayed here after the course because I needed someone to look after the animals while I had to go to S.Vigilio, my hometown. When I came back she decided to stay for the chestnut harvest, then for the olives, and after for the garden. In the meanwhile she fell in love with Yolan, our donkey, and of the horses, and she took care of the cats. During this time, she got to know Reggioli, with its contious changes, with sunny days and rainy ones. Intense group moments with lots of peolpe and moments of reflection just as intense with less peolpe, or alone. I welcomed her with open arms as with everyone that knocks at the door. I was stroken by her blueberry-coloured eyes that immediately lead you to the deepness of the forest. However, due to her young age I would have never thought of finding myself in a love relationship with her after two years. The communitary experience of the first year, getting to know her nature, her commitment, her values , openess and genuineness made me want to open my heart and start this path with her a year ago. I feel that she is part of Reggioli and of my life. In this moment I look outside of the window and I see Paolo with his cow-boy hat playing with Kora, Anna‘s dog. I don‘t remember well in what year Paolo arrived for the first time with his family. I think it was 2016. He had arrived with his son Michel, the mother Maristela, and with Camilla, born from a previous relationship. During that year they were travelling around Italy attracted from the ecovillages realities. They landed in Reggioli during the olive harvest. His past as an informatic technical in Milan soon bored him. Surfing or with his moto, he jumped in always more meddlesome adventures around the world. For as period he lived in Africa, where his firstborn Camilla was born. Since two years, she has being spending nearly the whole summer in Reggioli with her two friends Samiah and Valeria. The girls are 16 years old, they live and study in Milan. They are very attracted by the modernity and fashion, the city life absorbs them. Howerver, by hanging in Reggioli they realized that also other realities exist, that stimulates them in other ways, that also helps them to relax and rest. They discoverd a slower rhythm of life, dynamic nonetheless, the deepness of the silence an dof the dark. They discovered the importance of taking responsability in daily lifeand the possibility of meeting other youngs in a natural and direct context. They now have become friends of my daughter Gioian, that comes to Reggioli when she can. During the time we welcomed a Waldorf high school from Dresda, which came for an artistic painting retreat, the four girls helped in the meal preparations, and in taking care of the common spaces. They helped in the harvesting and transformation of fruits, they gathered wood for the fires. There would be a lot more things to say, but this is just to give you a picture. Since March 2021, Paolo started to be present in Reggioli regularly for two or three weeks each month. During this times he‘s here he often brings also Michel and Ariel, his younger children that have now become good friends of Elias, Amanita and Janru. I will now not tell what they hhave lived durting this time, but surely there will be the possibility further on when you will be here with us in Reggioli. I hope to see you soon again, a warm greeting to everyone of you. I hope that life shines to you.

Dear friends of Reggioli,
Spring has finally come!
These are windy and cold days, but the sun is shining and the fruit trees’ blossoming is filling our eyes with beauty.
Last weekend Michele Speciale (Association Alberi Maestri), held the Olive pruning course. It was very interesting and full of food for thought. We are already working on the olive trees and we hope from the heart that they can feel our love and respect. This is Silvia writing today.
I arrived in Reggioli through the Wwoof organization in November during the olive harvest, a moment full of encounters, exchanges, connections and sharing. Winter has been intense, we took care of ourselves, the wood, the garden and the animals. Now I am happy to end this first magic cycle going back into the olive trees’ arms. See you soon, Reggioli!

Dear friends of Reggioli,
First of all, I would like to express my deep gratitude for this wonderful summer. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
It was a summer full of intense experiences, many people followed the call and met here to nourish humanity and values that seemed to be in danger.
In a pleasant, authentically human atmosphere, I was able to experience my everyday life and share it with people who strive for change with me.
Thanks to Gabi, Anuk, Eveline, Eva, Davide, Markus, Tamuh, Gabriele, Simon and Adriana, with whom I spent weeks of collaboration, intimate exchange and authentic commitment.
At this point I would also like to remind you of those who energetically enriched Reggioli with their suggestions for workshops, meetings and ceremonies. From the permaculture project, to maintaining relationships, yoga meetings, music, building a stove, the journey as an opportunity to grow, sacred rituals by the fire …
I would also like to express my deep gratitude to you who only came by for a day and also to those who started a journey in Reggioli – all of this has strengthened and nourished me and Reggioli.
So I can say with some pride that we are on the right track.
I remain in responsibility and loving care of this place.
The magic of this place comes from the quality of the meetings that Reggioli offers again and again.
We create this magic together, you and me.
I sincerely hope that the inspiration and love that has built up in the summer has also reached the saddest and darkest places in our society.
So that all living beings can be happy
A luminous hug

Dear friends of Reggioli,
I hope that you are all well and that in these times of a humanitarian crisis you found atleast some
space for regeneration and time for contemplation and insight. We are in the midst of a great
change and this actually offers the possibility of renewing and reorganizing our own reality of life.
You can say that not many things are new globally, but we are only at the beginning. The work has
just started. Let us fully savor this moment and nurture our dream of building a world that we want
to live in. Many projects were brought to their knees by the lockdown and it was and is not an
easy time for Reggioli aswell. We had debts before the lockdown, now they have increased. There
seems to be little money around, probably being centralized and concentrated at the usual
economic entities. This is why I think it is important to unite us now and support virtuoso projects.
Every purchase is a statement, a decision – let’s direct our energy in the right direction to make
our contribution to rebuilding this world.
For the post-quarantine phase, I thought about how we could meet again in Reggioli to celebrate
exchange and beauty and to enjoy life in this wonderful place with local culinary delights. The
vegetable garden is full of happy plants. They can’t wait to get to know you and, if you treat them
kindly, will provide you with fruits and vegetables.
Now take a look at the various courses, meetings and offers for regenerating turistic visits.

Social distancing and virtual communication have shaped us in the last months, I think, it is
extremely important that we find contact with the true world again. Being simple, with hugs and
caresses, scents and colors, animal voices, sun and wind, rain and rainbows.
This invitation is aimed at everyone who wants to get involved in a community life in the
In these two weeks you will be introduced to the functioning of this place, you will learn its
history and philosophy.
Immerse yourself in Reggioli, with activities in the garden, sharing recipes and adventures in the
forest …
from August 1st to 15th
Price for food and lodging 140 €
A WWOOF ID 35 € is required

Shortly after the lockdown, some people spoke to me and expressed their interest in our
Ecovillage project. Since then we have been in lively exchange, which I hope will bring new energy
to the project.
Adriana Manca started her trial year in Reggioli in May. She introduces herself on our website,
have a look! Moreover, Gabriele Andreoli has been with us since the beginning of July. He offers
various yoga courses. He too is looking for an answer to the question of how he can change his

Hi Dear Reggioli friends,

As perhaps some already know, we are in a phase of great change in Reggioli.
Since September Lucile, Elias, Amanita and Janru have moved to Colle Val d ’Elsa and attend the Waldorf La Formica school project.
It is an important step for our family, our children finally have the opportunity to build new ongoing relationships in this educating community.
Lucile takes care of accompanying the children on this adventure and she herself is following the Steiner training, e
continues to make crafts and markets, but no longer deals with the organization and management of Reggioli.
In fact, I will deal with this for now that I have remained the only human being continuously present in this Podere.
Every Friday the children return to Reggioli for an adventure and on Sunday I take them back to their home at the “Merlo”.

I want to continue the project of creating an intentional ecological community or ecovillage.
And for now I share this dream with many people, but with Davide we are working on it in a concrete way. I’ve known him since 2017, when we worked together with PantaRei.
We then met several times for similar ideas, since since October last year we have been working together on an experiential school project for the first ecological farmer settlement.
The idea is to set in motion a process of profiling and designing an ecological community settlement with a high degree of food self-sufficiency, starting from permaculture design.
The path from analysis to design and implementation becomes the basis of the study. The goal is to experiment with the creation of a model of coexistence and management of rural areas.
The research focuses on food and energy production, human relationships, institutional requirements for the production of products and services for the enlarged community and the creation of new living spaces in Reggioli.
So Reggioli is made available for this goal.

For now we are organizing various courses and courses to: promote sustainable practices, create meetings and finance the project.
We are working on the organization of various events, including the next permaculture, wild cooking, basketry, mushroom cultivation, circus, music, ecological communication, yoga, agroecology courses, directly in Reggioli or even as per-courses online (! ).
We are planning experiential modules of rural community life for groups and families, lasting 2 weeks.
Concerts and retreats.

We need resources for this process of transformation, evolution, creation, each of us and I also include you who read, has something to contribute to change.
Only group work can work.
The invitation is what each of us looks inside and identifies what we can make available for this project.
Everything can be useful, from sharing information on intents and events, to practical participation, from material to intangible contributions.
From passive regenerative vacation to energetic, active and proactive.
Practical support in the work up to organizational participation.

With this invitation, I greet you all from the heart.
Christian for Reggioli

It’s a super thank you to Markus for the German translation!
